Welcome to My Digital Garden
4 min read

So, you have landed on my website.
This is the beginning of my digital garden, as I like to call it. Here, I present my projects to the world, along with my thoughts, opinions, experiments, and art.
A digital garden takes time to grow. For a while, you might notice that some sections are empty, or perhaps a little uncolourful, much like a recently planted garden. But I assure you, with time, you will slowly see this garden blossom.
Who am I?#

As to who I am, my name is Gvan.
I consider myself a lifelong learner, software enthusiast, and lover of maths. I enjoy exploring new ideas and learning about things that catch my interest, particularly when I can turn that curiosity into something I can actually build.
I also make music under the name Spektral. Although, perhaps "make" is a little generous. I experiment with music, and I have a lot of fun doing it.
This garden could also be considered one of my first projects. Over time, I hope it will grow into a place that brings together many of the things I create and explore.
Another project you might see me dabbling in is YouTube. I have been putting off starting a channel for a while, but I have finally decided to begin my YouTube journey. I am hoping to upload at least once a week, so if that sounds interesting to you, be sure to subscribe to @gvan on YouTube.
The hobbies section#
In my free time, I love exploring new hobbies.
You will probably see quite a few of them appear in the hobbies section of this website. I would describe this as the receipts of my ADHD. I have a tendency to become interested in something, dive into it, learn as much as I can, and then suddenly find myself fascinated by something completely different.
Sometimes those interests stick around.
Sometimes they don't.
Either way, I enjoy the process of exploring them.
I also enjoy reading. I would not say I am particularly consistent with it, but I do enjoy picking up a book every now and then. Hopefully, as time goes on, I can become a little more consistent with that too.
A new website#
I should also mention that this is a recently made website.
If anyone encounters any bugs, please email starfoxlabs.contact@gmail.com, or leave a comment and I will do my best to fix the problem.
Since this is still a fairly new endeavour of mine, please be patient if some features are not quite to your liking. If you have suggestions or think something could be improved, let me know. I am building this as I go, and I want the website to improve alongside the garden itself.
What I have in mind#
Now that some of the groundwork has been covered, I want to talk a little more about what I have in mind for this website and the philosophy behind it.
I plan to write as much as my time allows. As an upcoming father, I am becoming increasingly aware that time is a scarce resource, so I will do my best to keep this website updated with information that is both consistent and worth reading.
I also want to continue building projects and sharing the process behind them.
Professionally, I am currently focused on DevOps, while developing a growing interest in 3D spatial intelligence. I am hoping to create projects around these areas and explore what I can learn from them.
That being said, I do not want to restrict myself too much.
If I find something interesting, I want to be able to explore it.
This website is meant to give me the freedom to do that.
If you are interested in the code behind my projects, you can also check out my LinkedIn, where I will share more of my professional work and projects.
Why create?#
There is one belief that sits at the centre of this entire website.
I am a big believer in creating.
I believe that creating is one of the great joys of life. There is something incredibly satisfying about taking an idea that exists only in your head and turning it into something real.
It does not have to be perfect.
It does not have to be revolutionary.
It does not even have to be useful.
It could be a piece of software, a song, a drawing, a video, a hobby, an experiment, or simply an idea that you decided to bring into the world.
This website, portfolio, garden, lab, or whatever you want to call it, is a direct result of that belief.
I want it to be a place where I can create things and share them with other people.
More importantly, I hope that by checking in on these articles, some of you might be inspired to create something yourselves.
Everyone can create.
After all, we are all created.
Come along for the journey#
I have no idea exactly what this garden will eventually become.
Maybe it will become a large collection of projects. Maybe it will become a place where I document everything I learn. Maybe it will become something completely different.
That uncertainty is part of what makes it exciting.
I am going to keep learning, experimenting, building, making music, exploring hobbies, and hopefully sharing as much of it as I can.
So please, be patient with me as I embark on this journey.
And perhaps, while you are here, start your own.
You do not need to be an expert.
You do not need to have the perfect idea.
You just need to try.
As Sylvia Plath once wrote:
“The worst enemy to creativity is self doubt.”
So, give yourself permission to create.
I hope you will stick around.
The garden has only just been planted.
Let's see what grows.
